Managing and Reducing Work Related Stress Claims

This course is designed for :

  • OHS & HR Managers
  • Return to Work Co-ordinators
  • Site Managers and Supervisors

In addition to the up-front cost of worker's compensation claims, poor management of ongoing psychological stress claims may cause productivity losses through:

  • Poor worker performance upon Return to Work.
  • Increased absenteeism whilst participating in Return to Work Plan
  • Diverted administrative and management time in managing injured workers
  • Poor moral
  • Increased staff turnover

Course Content
At the end of this course participants will be able to:

1 Assist in ensuring compliance with Return to Work Plans
2 Mediation strategies to resolve disputes and minimise the risk of further claims.
3 Analyse and address employees' barriers to returning to work.
4 Effectively monitor and assist injured workers to ensure their rehabilitation in a timely manner
5 Identify risk factors (e.g. work practices, actions or behaviours) that have the potential to affect psychological health.
6 Ensure early intervention of stress related issues with appropriate referral mechanisms.
